Protected page in modx 3 , best way

Hi,
i made some site with modx and for private page i used resouce group and user group.

Now i see this post in blog:

is it true width modx 3?
I would like to try using contexts but they are not recommended here.
For me is the easy way, or not?

Yes, that method should still work in MODX 3, but it may or may not be your best option.

There are situations where contexts are a good choice.

There are also situations where using resource groups is a good choice.

It depends on what you are trying to do.

For any situation there is best solution but …
for what situation do you think the context or the user group there is NOT the best solution?

I’m afraid that would be a very long answer, and one that others might not agree with.

If the resource groups and user groups method is working well for you, I wouldn’t change it.

If not, I think the best thing for your situation would be to look at the code at the end of the blog post and see if it would do what you want without too much trouble.
