Anyone know if Modx 2.6.5 will work with PHP 8.1?
Unfortunately, it will not. It needs to be 2.7.x or above and even then there’s no guarantee it will work depending on your Extras.
Is there any reason you’re unable to upgrade to 2.8.4? It’s really best to stay abreast of patch releases. While there aren’t any catastrophic security issues in 2.6.5, there have definitely been fixes.
OK thanks for confirming. The site is being replaced very soon - this forced PHP update has given us a good deadline to make the replacement site go live quicker - so the 2.6.5 site has a few weeks of life left before its being retired so not worth the upgrade efforts.
