Summary

Manager login page won’t render properly in Chrome.

Step to reproduce

  1. Carry out a successful install of MODX 3.0.0.
  2. Enter URL to website in address bar of Google Chrome : Version 100.0.4896.127 (Official Build) (64-bit).
  3. Once the Home page displays, click Go to the Manager button.

Observed behavior

The Manager login page never fully renders in Chrome; the page endlessly flickers. The net result is that I cannot log in to the site. However, the Manager page loads just fine in Firefox and I am able to login without issue in that browser.

Note that I cleared all the cache in the browser, but this did not resolve the issue.

Expected behavior

The Manager login page should fully load in Chrome and allow me to enter my credentials in the UN and Password fields.

Environment

Site is hosted via Hostinger.
MySQL version: 10.5
PHP 8.1

Try clearing your browser cache. Chrome’s cache is very sticky.

Thanks. Yes – I did that. Unfortunately, it did not solve the issue.

Does it work in an incognito window, or also fails there?

It does! Great suggestion. Wonder why it does not work in a regular browser window as I did clear the cache.

Because, as markh says, Chrome sucks at clearing its cache. I recommend the Chrome extra: Cache Killer Classic.
