Is Quip still a safe extra to use?

Since the Quip extra isn’t exactly maintaned, is it still safe to use? Is it compatible with Modx Revo?

You can use Quip, it will work and it’s safe. But, there are faster, better maintained and easier to use projects like Disqus for commenting. My recommendation is to check that out and judge for yourself.

I’m still using Quip with Articles on my blog at Bob’s Guides. I did have trouble with it not emailing me about new comments, but I think that’s working now.
