We have a custom extra that was uploaded to a Modx Cloud install that is running Revo 2.8.3. We need to be able to download the extra, update it, and upload it to a new install. What is the best way to go about this?
I’m a bit confused.
If it’s a custom extra, why do need to download it from a site where this extra is installed?
When you install an extra in MODX, the ZIP-file of the package gets stored in the folder core/packages, MODX then creates a folder with the unzipped content of the extra and copies the content to the MODX installation (database, core/components/... or assets/components/... folders , etc.)
I guess you could copy the *.zip file from the core/packages folder, install the package on a local MODX installation, make changes to the content and then use a script (or an extra like PackMan) to create a new version of the package.
