The Collections extra has a row of buttons on each item for Edit, Duplicate, Publish, Delete, etc. Is there an easy way that an archive button could be added that just moves the resource to another folder when clicked?
These action buttons can be managed in the collection view (“Extras” → “Collections views” → right-click “Update view” → tab “General settings” → field “Buttons”).
But I don’t think there exists the possibiliy to add custom buttons with custom functionality (without changing the source code).
As far as I can tell, you can only choose from a selection of built-in options.
So feature request then?

Yeah, sounds like a solid feature request, being able to add a simple “archive” action without hacking around would definitely make managing content smoother. Thanks for submitting it; hopefully it gets some traction. I can see that being useful in a lot of workflows.
