Is MODX appropriate for Learning Management System?

Hi,

A new customer want a website to sell his own learning courses (with lot of videos).
Wordpress has a large ecosystem of addons for LMS (Learning Management System) : Extensions Systèmes de gestion de l'apprentissage (LMS) — WordPress.com

I’m a 20 years MODX user, so I think we can do best than Wordpress, however, I never build this kind of website.

How would you go about creating such a platform with MODX? With which addon ?
Is it advisable to use a third-party streaming platform (Udemy, etc.)?

Thanks for your tips and anwsers !

I would stay away from the WP extention. I have build a few LMS, it really depends how large extensive the client wants it. for a basic one modx will do well but without a crazy amout of customisation. For a comprehensive i used Moodle before (its the wordpress of LMS). But be aware its WAY more messy than modx and more headaches overall I am not a big fan. I also extended on to a opensource laravel one that I found on github which worked out quite well. there is lots out there already dont reinvent the wheel.

Thanks for this feedback @servingpixels

And what about externalize video to third-party streaming plateform ?

the one client how used video ALOT used https://bigbluebutton.org/
