Home page seo friendly url

Hi

my client requested that their product categories are listed on the home page… www.example.com

i’d like to be able to use the seo friendly alias for this page to optimise the seo

e.g www.example.com/my-optimised-home-page-alias

is there any way i can configure modx to use the alias for the home page, as by default this seems to be ignored for the site_start page

The home page (site_start) is always at the root of the site. To make that page have an alias you’ll have to create a different home page to live in the root of the site.

Thanks @markh, that makes sense

I’ll have to work out how valuable that alias is to the SEO optimisation of the page to determine whether it is worth creating a new home page
