Filtered Search [SOLVED]

I’m looking for what I thought would be a simple way to create a search of a list of jobs opportunities. The resources are divided into two containers; Contract / Permanent. So it’s a case of a dropdown with each of those and then a search input text box.
I’ve almost got there with SimpleSearch but the results I get are:
my****website.com/latest-opportunities/?search=Engineer&id=177
or
my****website.com/latest-opportunities/?search=Engineer&id=176

That would work if I could remove the /latest-opportunities but I can’t figure it out.
