Fatal error: Uncaught TypeError: fwrite(): Argument #1 ($stream) must be of type resource, bool given

Hi Folks, I’m back. Just done a complete reinstall of Alama Linux 9. with LAMP stack, selinux disabled, no Fail2ban installed. Tried to install again, MODX 3.0.6 this time. Exactly the same errors, verbatim, arising at the same point in the installation process, line 490 as before and illustrated above by @halftrainedharry.

So I’m giving up on RHEL and its clones. I have options of Debian and Ubuntu on these VMs. Can anybody here tell me whether either behaves somewhat better with MODX, please?

Incidentally, I could not even get that far without /core/cache/ set at 777. It doesn’t appear to be listening to MODX’s recommendations. Also, the PHP user on RHEL and its clones is root.

It does entail another full reinstallation of the VM so if that doesn’t work I’ll be waving a reluctant farewell to MODX.
